Feeling the love and support is an essential element for a good wedding.
I had the opportunity to provide my service for our bride Kirsten, her mom and mother in-law this past Saturday. It’s a destination wedding in Ventura. Kirsten and Mike’s ceremony was set up at Mike’s parents’ backyard at their beach front house built by his grand parents in the 40s! Over looking the entire Ventura beach. Their wedding was perfectly planned with months’ preparation. Although on the day of, Kirsten was feeling a strong anxiety attack and literally broke down during her makeup session, her dear friends and family were there for her. With the love and support, her day was completely turned around like magic! I was so happy that she was able to let go of the fear, worries and anxiety after her makeup and just be her beautiful and vibrate self<3
Congratulations Kirsten, best wishes to you and your sweet love!
Waking up this morning with the most wonderful and thoughtful gift from my recent bride Val..
It’s a book I’ve incidentally ‘lost’ in the past few months and she bought and mailed it to me within a day! I was speechless..
Thank you Val for such an amazing gift, thank you for being so thoughtful and sweet! I feel blessed to have met great clients and some of the most amazing women in my life
Together with this book, I want to encourage all brides and brides to be to read ‘If the Buddha Married’ by the same author- Charlotte Kasl. They are truly soul cleansing, full of wisdom and truth. May your marriage be a long lasting journey that’s full of love, support and wisdom xo
Some comments about these books:
‘ Insightful, clear, humorous, delightful. A must-read for all people who value honesty, kindness, and compassion in the affairs of the heart.’ – Susan Page
“Brings the Buddha’s wisdom to the complex world of intimate relationships. In if the Buddha Married, she brings clarity to an area filled with confusion, and hope to an area where so many of us have far too little. We’ve all heard that marriage can be a spiritual experience; reading this book, you actually believe it.’ – Marianne Williamson
27th September Wedding Makeup and Hair by Toni Brides.
Just married Megan and her other half had their wedding at a unique and beautiful venue in Pioneertown. To enhance her beautiful green eyes and cute freckles, I did a light airbrush makeup with beach/brown tone shimmer eye makeup and paired with a authentic side bun. For her bridesmaid, we went for a side braids and a fingerwave retro look 🙂
So happy to share these few sneak peak wedding photos for Natalie’s wedding 09/06/14.
I can’t be pleased enough of how the makeup looked in this low light. Shout out to the amazing photographer: Stacey Adams Photography for capturing these ‘getting ready’ moment!
Natalie wasn’t shy on colors, she knows exactly what she liked and that made my job easy 🙂
I remember when we are waiting at the elevator, a couple of young ladies kept on coming back to see her and ‘wow’ed how beautiful she is. Her purple smoky eye/glam makeup with a low classic updo completed the look for her glamorous and classic wedding.
Bridal Trial gives our brides a chance to see how they envisioned to look on their wedding day. Sometimes we don’t know whether we like it or not until we try it out. Other times, we can’t decide what we like better. For yesterday’s bridal/weddingtrial, we tried out a few different eye/lip and hair possibilities for Vanessa’s upcoming big day in 2015! Finally, a light/flawless airbrush, bronze/rosy look + a side swiped half up-do is the winner!
– 6th September 2014 Wedding Makeup and Hair by Toni Brides at Queen Mary, Long Beach, CA.
A beautiful wedding day on Queen Mary, long beach. Bride Natalie and her wedding party were getting ready at a room where movie Titanic was shot at. To enhance her already gorgeous feature, I did a purple smoky eye. Paired it with a smooth finish full size low updo. 🙂 For Mother of bride’s, who has sensitive eyes, I chose to only enhance her natural lash line, and added some neutral tone eye shadow color to even make her blue eyes pop more. For one of her bridesmaids Mia, I went a little heavy and achieved a smoky, contoured look. Her husband said she looks like Kim Kardashian after makeup 😉
Hope you all had a wonderful first Saturday of September!
Here we go, another super busy week had past, now I finally had a chance to sit down in front of my laptop and share some Wedding Makeup and Hair from last weekend with you 🙂
For our beautiful bride Sarah, a semi-messy low up-do and a natural makeup with neutral brown/peach tone colors are just perfect for her, with a little bit black wing-liner and individual lashes, the Big Day look is done :))
For her sister, I went with the same theme but more subtle. After all, we want the bride to stand out the most 😉 Her hair is a little shorter than shoulder length. She loves braids(aren’t we all do?!), and wanted hair to be completely off her face so her little 6 month old baby won’t grab and pull. I’m so glad I was able to achieve what she wanted and more by giving her an up-do with her ‘hard to hold curls’ short hair.
Everyone is happy!
Tips for hair: If you have hair that doesn’t hold curls well, an up-do for your wedding day is highly recommended. With some high and low lights, it will give you more textured look too!
So much happened last weekend and I can’t wait to share all of them with you! After the successful 5 trials and a wedding is over, now I’m going through all my photos and sharing what I took from the past Saturday’s wedding with you:)
We went for a Half up-do with hair-extension for Sara’s wedding day hair, and a rosy/gold natural tanned airbrush makeup look. For her bestie Jenny, I did a natural look to go with the theme.
Loving how everyone was complimenting her makeup and hair left and right to me while she wasn’t in the room! Even the elders!!!
2nd August 2014 Wedding! Bridesmaids Makeup and Hair by Toni Brides.
I was honored to be part of my friend’s Bo’s big day doing the lovely bridesmaids Makeup and Hair. To match their beautiful baby blue bridesmaids dresses, we went for a very natural makeup with false eyelashes and very natural toned brown, peach, vanilla color. For hairstyle, we chose a French braided front and pinned that to the curled ponytail. Everyone loved how they looked! The day started at 3:30 am but it was such a pleasure be surrounded by these great people and doing what I love <3
